Celine Dion is willing to get back to her life before SPS came in
Things have been tough for Celine Dion ever since this disease revealed itself to her and she had to go out of public eye for three and a half years.
Even announcing her sickness to the public was not easy at all as she said it in her post on the day she shared it to the public.
“Hello everyone, I’m so sorry it’s taken me so long to reach out to you. I miss you all so much and can’t wait to be on stage talking to you in person. As you always know I’ve always been an open book and I wasn’t ready to say anything but ready now.
Recently, I’ve been diagnosed with a very neurological disorder called the Stiff Person Syndrome which affects one in a million people. While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what’s been causing all the spasms I’ve been having.”
Her fans were supportive and stood with her through social media as always. Her first appearance after this new life of hers started was at Montreal Canadiens and the Vegas Golden Knights game last November in 2023.
Chantal Machabee, representative for Montreal Canadiens hockey team, said, “She’s been through a lot, and to see her like this and smiling and being so happy….it’s amazing.”
Recently, Celine, posted a picture on her Instagram in celebration of International Stiff Person Syndrome Awareness Day. Her caption was what confirmed that she sees a better life.
She not only has the ambition to motivate the rest of the people fighting with this autoimmune disorder but also seeing herself as the Celine Dion she was before.“Today the world recognises International SPS Awareness Day. As many of you know in the fall of 2022, I was diagnosed with SPS. Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day get back onto stage and to live as normal of a life as possible.
I am deeply grateful for the love and support from my kids, family, team and all of you.
I want to send my encouragement and support to all those around the world that have been affected by SPS. I want you to know you can do it! We can do it!”
