Stop begging govt money -Daddy Andre to Kenzo
Producer, songwriter, and singer Daddy Andre was among the people who started the Uganda National Musicians Federation. He was among the leaders but later quit to focus on his own career and work with Uganda Musicians Association.
Andre has now vented his anger at the leadership of the federation. He says they have failed to secure copyrights and have turned into beggars.
Andre said he is not interested in money from the government but rather a system that works for all musicians and artists.
“Let’s focus on things that can help us. We just need a system that works instead of begging for money from the government. It’s abnormal for artists to keep on begging for handouts from the government,” he said in an interview with a local television.
Andre believes UMA is the only musicians’ group that is genuinely fighting to see the passing and implementation of copyright laws.
